Artist Statement
"In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer" Camus This is from a collection of 6 paintings (4 sold, 2 remain) It's inspired by the highest places in the amazon jungle, it represents of a memory of walking here in primary forest where few people have ever been, out of the vegetation a huge shaft of light appears. Untouched by man, it is paradise. a simple and innocent, yet sophisticated abstract that speaks to anyone who feels best in nature.

Jade Robertson is a British born artist and print textile designer based in Paris and Brooklyn. Jade trained at the university of East London with a BA in Print textile design. After a sell out degree show, she moved to New York where she worked and lived for over 12 years. She has worked with several print houses in New York and London (Alison Hulme 101, Ink studio, European Textile Collection, Group Four Design) and sells to markets within the fashion and home furnishing industry including Armani, Esprit and Habitat. She also lived on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico for four years drawing inspiration from her tropical surroundings and a very different light to that of New York and Paris. Inspiration often comes from her travels, the Amazonas being one of the most recent trips.
