Artist Statement
Chenango refers to the river that runs through Binghamton, N.Y., where I grew up. I could have titled this piece Susquehanna, that also runs through Binghamton but I liked the sound of Chenango better.
The channel that meanders through this Cedar plank is referential. It is a slice of geography, although not specific.
Chenango includes a removable base. The bottom 18" of the sculpture easily slides into the slotted base.
