Artist Statement

IconCaretDown

I try to capture 'decisive moments' in nature and show wildlife contextually in its environment. I enjoy the process of trying to create memorable and beautiful pictures and I hope that they will inspire people in some way to care about and conserve the natural world. Photography is a unique 'independent art' and like most wildlife and nature photographers, I do not digitally manipulate my pictures as I feel that it is inappropriate to my style of work which concentrates on documenting and interpreting natural history events as I see them in wild and free conditions.

Artist Profile

Hometown: London

Based in: Sussex, England

I try to capture 'decisive moments' in nature and show wildlife contextually in its environment. I enjoy the process of trying to create memorable and beautiful pictures and I hope that they will inspire people in some way to care about and conserve the natural world. Photography is a unique 'independent art' and like most wildlife and nature photographers, I do not digitally manipulate my pictures as I feel that it is inappropriate to my style of work which concentrates on documenting and interpreting natural history events as I see them in wild and free conditions.

I live next to Ashdown Forest in the south of England and combine long term projects closer to home with those further afield in locations such as India and Africa. I have collaborated with various conservation groups over the last few years such as Nature Seychelles, Grevy's Zebra Trust and the Laikipia Predator Project to produce photo-stories for magazines. My pictures have been finalists twice in the 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' competition and are published regularly worldwide in various forms; commercially in advertisements, corporate/travel catalogues, packaging and art products and editorially in many books, magazines and newspapers.
