About the art
Artist statement
I was asked by a Chicago Sushi Restaurant for my vision of 'Ikebana'.
This offering, is one, reflecting the Cherry blossoms themselves with a far-off Mountain in the background
Japanese handmade Washi papers are gossamer thin and delicately painted with acrylics to create a visually weightless image.
I mix my colors using color mixing techniques originally developed by Japanese Monks to portray the "blush" of their highly venerated Cherry Blossoms.
All of my artwork (yours too) is available in heirloom quality custom handmade rugs from our Master Weavers.
Entire painting is coated with clear acrylics to protect from UVs.
