For some this has been a time of refuge and suffering, or a time of change and the chance to view the world through another lens, but indisputably it is a paradigm shift of existence. Confinement has meant for me a different consciousness, but a photographer is for ever the opportunist and patience rewards us. My garden has been the place where I go, to live in my own head, to empty the spaces that get full up and let the whirlygig spin off so that the sediment can gently fall and settle undisturbed. This series of images, whilst continuing a style that has been in the making for some thirty years, expresses a different part of me. A part that for some reason I considered a different species in my brain. Here the confluence of events has resulted in something quite profoundly different and in a way I am perhaps more whole than I was before. May a sense of that communicate and I can bring my garden into the minds of others. It's a very simple thought.

Fascinated and frightened in equal measure for our beautiful world, the work here celebrates that world, but also alludes to the fragility of its future.
