Artist Statement

Oil on linen.
Working on a traditional support, “R/Y/B” uses the primaries as a challenge.
This later developed into a series in which Jean Feinberg worked exclusively with the three primary hues on wooden supports, and the variations within that limitation defined the group.

Jean Feinberg is an American abstract painter who uses paint, wood, canvas and paper to explore the intersection of painting and object. Using salvaged wood, she constructs paintings that incorporate sculptural qualities, blurring the lines between 2D and 3D representation.
