Artist Statement

This oil painting was realised during covid lockdown in France from in-situ sketches made in the happy times when you could sit on a café terrace without having to show a sanitary pass! I tried to show the subdued light filtering through the sun shades and the strong contrasts between the lit areas and those in the shade. Framed with a wooden box this work is ready to hang. This painting was featured in the summer issue of the French magazine Artmajeur. Dimensions of the work without a frame : 55x46x2 Dimensions of the work with a frame : 61x52x2
