About the art
Artist statement
"Ice singing at midwinter" is a painting celebrating the stillness and sound of the frozen lakes in the Colorado high country. It is dedicated to the element of water in all of its forms. It is a piece made with countless layers of translucent oils and fine brushwork, as well as gold pigments. It exudes the serene, still peace of a cold winter day, with its ethereal light and overlapping space. It seems to make time stand still. It is a truly beautiful statement on the wall and changes appearance with the time of day, the season, and the weather.
