Artist Statement
Started working on it in October 2018 out of thoughts and feelings of a relationship that ended. Not giving up was the main feeling behind it. I could only finish it in May 2020, and all this time I'd often came back to it, whenever I felt in the same mood. Now it's finally done!

Born in Lisbon in 1967, this is the city where I have lived most of my life. I was born in a family of architects, art collectors and artists which allowed me to contact with the world of art at a very young age.
I also lived abroad for a few years and as a surfer I traveled a lot around the world, which allowed me to better understand the human being and the social and cultural differences.
I have developed my artistic expression between 1989 and 1994, when design and advertising (my profession) challenged me to develop my creativity in a different way.
By 2016 profound changes in my life, coupled with a quest for emotional and spiritual growth, have brought me back to artistic expression.
My work is dictated by my deeper spiritual state. When I look at my work, be it with anger, detachment, concern, joy or pain, I always do it with surrender. Self taught as an artist, for me subjects are insights that come from within, they reflect my culture, state of mind, soul and life experiences as well as my inner search.
