Artist Statement
As a photographer, I have been fascinated by the constantly changing, often very intense or pastel colors of the sea and the sky for 40 years. As a physicist, I often think about how these colors come about. This knowledge lets me take a closer look and discover nuances that I would otherwise not have seen and could not capture in the photo. Many photos in this series were taken with a 300 mm telephoto lens. They only show a small section of the horizon that is particularly interesting in terms of color. With regard to the colors, the photos have not been edited afterwards.
