In my entire body of work, I think about the construct of time a lot and I try to find ways to depict aspects and ideas of time, timing or the passing of time. I also like my paintings to be quiet, in some way silent and like a frozen moment.
With this ongoing series I imagined how the territory of memory in my mind would look like and how memory is "stored away". I started with an abstract painting and added different features like floral and graphic elements and blurred details. In my imagination the piece translates how tricky memory can be (as it changes whenever recalled) and how the ongoing passing of time, which forever runs through our fingers, influences our thoughts.
