I must have photographed this artwork 100 times as I cannot get enough of the color POP and movement! It reminds me of Warhol's flowers and their "in your face" presence acting as equally as primary subject, abstract element and to me both a playful anchor and disrupter of the composition. The bold color in this work pulls you in, throws the eye about the canvas and basically forces the subject matter into a tertiary position due to the abstract qualities of the composition and paint itself.
This work was based off of my daily walks during the worst of COVID where I experienced a multiplicity of beautiful moments in nature. People were definitely scarce, and in their absence nature was truly able to speak to me then and now to you through my oils.

Based in: Bloomfield Hills
My story is easy enough to tell…I’ve been creating since childhood driven by a need for order amongst disorder, new harmonies amongst objects, visually seduced by repetition, pattern, and color and onward the dance goes. At some point around the age of 15 or 16 a rather observant art teacher stepped in and put me on the path from wayward youth to wayward artist. From there it’s been an epicurean vacation of creation like a Jacques Cousteau dive special into the deepest reaches of my mind. Sadly, no sharks. The discoveries are constant, the sun is always shining, and the ocean is always beautifully blue. The rest is nature.
My work is held in multiple corporate and private collections throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
About my work:
I am an explorer at heart possessed with a need to look beyond traditions in style and question the unknown. Because of this the works are seeded in process painting and material discovery. Elements of drawing, textural curiosities and color/form relationships combine to create a unique aesthetic in each work. Depending on what is going on in the world at the time there will also be elements of nature and/or humanity in my work that mix about with abstracted components to create a sort of historic bibliophile in the paint…essentially a moment in time that reflects for a lifetime.
