Artist Statement
This little image was in an area off to the side of one of the most beautify and historic homes in my neighborhood. Its an immaculate 19th century tudor, and their gardens are ancient and extensive to say the least. I was walking my pups and Frankie located this gorgeous spot for me as he broke free of his leash to chase a bird of all things. He's a pudgy Frenchie, strong, but not fast to say the least, and the entire event was more comical than anything. The chase ended with Frankie muddied and happily peering out at me from under a huge mum in their gardens. Immediately to my right was my subject matter-to-be. The fall colors were intense, and the movement was spectacular! There may be more of this spot coming. I'm racing to capture more before the weather turns and takes the blooms for the season.

My story is easy enough to tell…I’ve been creating since childhood driven by a need for order amongst disorder, new harmonies amongst objects, visually seduced by repetition, pattern, and color and onward the dance goes. At some point around the age of 15 or 16 a rather observant art teacher stepped in and put me on the path from wayward youth to wayward artist. From there it’s been an epicurean vacation of creation like a Jacques Cousteau dive special into the deepest reaches of my mind. Sadly, no sharks. The discoveries are constant, the sun is always shining, and the ocean is always beautifully blue. The rest is nature.
My work is held in multiple corporate and private collections throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
About my work:
I am an explorer at heart possessed with a need to look beyond traditions in style and question the unknown. Because of this the works are seeded in process painting and material discovery. Elements of drawing, textural curiosities and color/form relationships combine to create a unique aesthetic in each work. Depending on what is going on in the world at the time there will also be elements of nature and/or humanity in my work that mix about with abstracted components to create a sort of historic bibliophile in the paint…essentially a moment in time that reflects for a lifetime.
