Artist Statement
Most of these new figurative works will have this description:
I am in negotiations for shows in Singapore and Hong Kong in 2023 or 2024 with Shout Gallery (depending on when I can complete the required amount of work the gallery wants for 2 locations), and they will be a mix of figurative and floral works with some acrylics dotted in between. That is all on top of a show here in Detroit in April. Busy, busy! That said, I finally found some time to work on this particular style of figurative works. They are the culmination of my experimentations between figurative and landscape/floral, and are a perfect representation of how I see the essence of humanity as it pertains to our limited time here. Ashes to ashes so to speak, and for a few of us who are a bit more empathic to the planet they say more about our link to all that is nature and life.
Scent of a Women is my muse, my passion for art, for nature and for life.

Artist Profile
Born: 1969
Hometown: Bloomfield Hills
Based in: Bloomfield Hills
My story is easy enough to tell…I’ve been creating since childhood driven by a need for order amongst disorder, new harmonies amongst objects, visually seduced by repetition, pattern, and color and onward the dance goes. At some point around the age of 15 or 16 a rather observant art teacher stepped in and put me on the path from wayward youth to wayward artist. From there it’s been an epicurean vacation of creation like a Jacques Cousteau dive special into the deepest reaches of my mind. Sadly, no sharks. The discoveries are constant, the sun is always shining, and the ocean is always beautifully blue. The rest is nature.
My work is held in multiple corporate and private collections throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
About my work:
I am an explorer at heart possessed with a need to look beyond traditions in style and question the unknown. Because of this the works are seeded in process painting and material discovery. Elements of drawing, textural curiosities and color/form relationships combine to create a unique aesthetic in each work. Depending on what is going on in the world at the time there will also be elements of nature and/or humanity in my work that mix about with abstracted components to create a sort of historic bibliophile in the paint…essentially a moment in time that reflects for a lifetime.
