Thick blue paint is used to depict three scarecrows in a field with newly sown crops. I find scarecrows an interesting example of the human trace in landscape. Rather then a thoughtless change to the environment, they are used as an explicit reminder to nature to be wary of us.

Lives and Works: Stroud
I'm a painter living and working in Gloucestershire, UK. I'm originally from Belfast and trained in graphic design in Edinburgh. I paint with acrylics, oils and digitally using Photoshop. I mostly paint from imagination, drawing loosely on things I've seen, heard or read. Although the resulting subjects vary, my underlying aim always is to create images that express a sense of something totemic. My paintings often touch on themes of time, place, nature and our relation to them and are my attempt to connect to something lasting and elemental.
