Artist Statement
Please note that Candyland is currently in an exhibition. It is available for sale but cannot be released until mid-June.
Candyland is a vibrant hot pink paint collage supplemented with black, white, red and yellow. Circles slice through the linear pattern which is edged in raised paint strips. A psychedelic and unusual painting.
This work has two sets of D rings and wire for your choice of vertical or horizontal hanging (see in situ images). The pattern continues around all sides, therefore, there is no need to frame. On the back, you will find my signature, initials, title, and year. It is registered on the NRAA (National Registry for Australian artists) . The work comes with details of the registration and a Certificate of Authenticity.

"When the paint is dry my work is just beginning".
The desire to free paint and allow it independence is paramount in my art practice. My experiences of repeated international relocations feed into the way I approach my work. Breaking ties, rebuilding support systems as well as feelings of invisibility and instability are foremost considerations.
My artistic process is centered on the exclusive use of unsupported, dried paint, I create original paintings without a canvas or paper backing, only to deconstruct and remake them. Often drawing on textile, collage, and sculptural techniques, my core aim is to challenge expectations of what a painting is capable of being.
I hold a BFA (Sculpture and Painting) from Curtin University, Perth.
