Artist Statement
Part of a series of Goddess Flowers.
Inspired by the idea of a magical, mythological garden with flowers for each goddess.
Persephone is the Greek goddess of the underworld.
This is a hand-made sculpture encrusted with different varieties of glass and a smattering of 24 carat gold. The beaded stamens can be twisted around a finger or pen as desired.
Persephone is published in my book ‘Sculptural Secrets for Mosaic’ (Schiffer Publishing USA). It will be sent in a custom plywood box with a signed copy of the book plus a certificate of authenticity and a certificate of registration on the NRAA (National Registry of Australian Artists).

Artist Profile
Hometown: Melbourne
Based in: Melbourne
"When the paint is dry my work is just beginning".
The desire to free paint and allow it independence is paramount in my art practice. My experiences of repeated international relocations feed into the way I approach my work. Breaking ties, rebuilding support systems as well as feelings of invisibility and instability are foremost considerations.
My artistic process is centered on the exclusive use of unsupported, dried paint, I create original paintings without a canvas or paper backing, only to deconstruct and remake them. Often drawing on textile, collage, and sculptural techniques, my core aim is to challenge expectations of what a painting is capable of being.
I hold a BFA (Sculpture and Painting) from Curtin University, Perth.
