Artist Statement

IconCaretDown

This sculpture is the loving memorie of a wonderful person from far away. The gold signifies the energy as which our thoughts are beeing trasnsported inside our brains. And it also shows, how we make things more beautifel by remembering them.
The Idea of capturing a thought or a memory and manifest it in reality is one that fasciantes me a very long time. When I found out, that repetitive thoughts and memories, move in loops from receptor to receptor, with an fixed entry and exit point and that we are able to influence this loops consciously, I started to work on this series of sculptures.

Artist Profile

Born: 1979

Hometown: Vienna

Based in: Cologne

I was born in Vienna on the 4th of December 1979. It was very cold. I went to school there and with 16 years, I started to travel the world, working as a fashion Model with very well know Photographers like Mondino, Testino and Unwerth for Designers like J.P.Gaultier, Armani, Gucci, J.F.Ferre and many more. After I finished School, I started to work as a fashion Model full time, but I always wanted to work full time only as an artist. Since I was a kid, I only felt alive while creating
So I watched these great artistic Photographers. How they decided what was art and what wasn´t. I watched how there entire world was filled with there art and I took it all in. The frames, the light. And I felt a very strong relation to them. Since I was a kid, I only felt alive while creating. So I created all the time. One Day I decided to apply at Art schools and so I did. I studied painting, 3 Years on the University for Applied Arts in Vienna. At the Class of C.L. Attersee and then another 3 years at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the Masterclass of Herbert Brandl. I made my Diploma as a Meisterschüler 2011. Since then I am working as an Artist.
Since 2016 I started also to sculpt. My Sculptures are by now, the center of my gravitational universe. So as the people I watched, my Life became my art. every minute, every day, everything revolves around the next project, the next painting or sculpture.
I live with my wife and two kids in Cologne, but i work a lot in Vienna and around the world. I love to go to different countrys and work there for a couple of weeks. I do this all the time, since my kids are old enough.
