Artist statement
This large oil painting is an exploration of tensions between tones like emerald and magenta on the gold background.
I try to let my intuition flow, experiment with different oil painting techniques, different brush strokes, not worrying too much about the outcome. In my most recent painting I exhausted my intuition, trying to see without using my mind.
I had been experimenting with the new ways of applying paint and rethinking my technique to achieve freshness, light and movement.
Please note that this is an artwork on canvas paper, it will be shipped rolled in a tube and it needs to mounted on the board and framed ( just like you would with a drawing)
The actual size is 110x139 cm , allowing framers to trim the edges before mounting , for a clean look.
