Artist Statement
Since Kaspar Bonnén was admitted at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1993 he has, through a number of media, scrutinized the spaces we live in; both the physical space which surrounds us and the immaterial space we create through our relationships, feelings, recollections and dreams.

Danish artist Kaspar Bonnén now works and lives in Copenhagen is not only a painter but also a sculptor and a poet. Although the materials he practices in artwork are various, he can always proficiently present their utmost characters. From the mid-90s, Bonnén started to experiment different kinds of artforms, to reveal the relationship among individual, society and space. In his painting, he draws out a combination with diverse cubic angle in order to challenge the visual effect that limited by the two-dimensional painting. When it comes to his sculpture, they are never confined by the exhibition venue. Bonnén separates the spaces through his artworks to extract the extensity of the viewers, and allows them to delve into their true-self within the space that he creates. From getting famous in his own country to obtaining several collaborative opportunities around Northern Europe, he also had a solo-exhibition in Tokyo within recent years. Besides being presented in different exhibition, Bonnén’s artworks had also been listed in the art collection of National Gallery of Denmark, Aarhus Kunstmuseum (ARoS), Moderna Museet……several well-known museum.
