Based in: Los Angeles
Kaye Freeman was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Tokyo, Japan. She is now based in Los Angeles. She is a contemporary artist, working in the mediums of oil paint, oil stick, graphite and mixed media. Freeman studied at Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney Australia after being awarded a one-year scholarship. She continued her studies at NSW Tafe graduating with a diploma in painting and printmaking. Freeman later went on to Victoria University and graduated with a Diploma in Education for Japanese Language and Art. She uses painting, drawing and three-dimensional assemblage to explore politics, gender, identity, religion and violence. Freeman has exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Tokyo, the UK and the US. Her work is held in many international private collections. Her most recent exhibition was at Band of Vices LA in February 2021.
