About the art
Artist statement
Is there an object/ food that describe you best?
I’m a full time mother, also an artist. I struggled to find the time to be both. Becoming a mother completely changed my entire world. I didn’t knew it would be that difficult. I didn’t knew we wouldn’t get much sleep. I was constantly exhausted and feeling guilty for every little thing. I still had no idea what was coming!
Sunny Side Up as a representative of myself - the life experience of my current. There are days you get a perfect well cooked yolk, or burnt at the sides, or runny yolk etc.
From a distance, the yolk looks like a shining sun full of positivity. The many yolks brimming with joy. I want this series to make my audience feel good, elevate their mood and be inspired. I am hoping one day I can install these works with the clear sky as my background to let audience experience “a break from their mind” and allows them to focus on my eggs. I aim to hope that few minutes of relaxation could improve their mental fatigue and well-being.
Sunny side up, a sustainability project -
Used cardboard, newspaper and supermarket leaflets are the things I have at home. The everyday objects tell stories who we are and where we come from. Sunny side up on these materials is also acting as documenting the point of time where I am and what's happening around in my life.
Artwork is uniquely created per my mood and emotions, cannot be duplicated.
Artwork is framed.
- Artwork is 35 x 35cm mounted on frame 37.5 x 37.5 x 2.8cm
