About the art
Artist statement
Frieze 1c is a detail of kaleidoscopic image. The main image is itself not being used as a finished artwork, and all variations of it are details of part of the whole array and. are part of the Frieze 1 series. In this version, 1c, I have used just one row of the array, and it has been rendered in an almost totally black and white way (it actually has tones of both yellowish off-white and blue gray in it, so it is not purely a black and white image - I wanted the subtile colored tones in the image to add some mystery to it) - but it is basically just a study in shape and form
