Artist Statement
Hibiscus 10j3 is an abstraction of part of an hibiscus flower. I have concentrated on just the central part of the flower without showing any edges of the flower, because I don't want it to be seen as a flower but rather as a geometric pattern. In version 10j3, I have rendered the petals in shades of chocolate brown to produce a muted color effect, of varying tonal qualities of mainly one hue.
