Artist Statement

Oculus 233g10 is an abstraction of part of the Oculus Structure at Ground Zero in NYC, which was also casting shadows on the interior, seen through the windows from the inside, while the glass was also reflecting the interior of the structure at the same time. There are several versions of the main image (Oculus 233), each limited tp 3 prints for each version. In this version (g10), I have eliminated the blacks from the shadow areas substituting mid-tone gray and aqua to produce much less contrasty version with bright colors of mostly mid-saturation. This version is about color contrast but unlike version 233g9, maintains the hard-edged geometric shapes
