Artist Statement

Stormy Sea 1b7 is an abstraction of an extreme closeup of the wake, waves and spray from a jet-ski turning sharply at very high speed. I have darkened the spray and varied its contrast and shadowing to make the spray look like storm clouds on and above a rough and angry ocean. There are several versions of the main image (Stormy Sea 1), each limited to 3 prints per version. In this version (1b7), I have tinted the sky and water a peachy gray to give some warmth to the image and to give the sense of warm, humid, tropical weather and a time near to sunset, with sunlight penetrating the clouds to some extent.
