Artist Statement
CROWD.
From a series of watercolour sketches on the theme of a musical tempo.
The artist produced a large quantity of small drawings working at home during the lockdown periods. Now back in the studio, his new paintings under the working title of ‘No Title’, are the direct result. ‘Crowd’ displays an imagined fullness and a crowded business in repeated sequences of simple marks. The inconsistencies of the line are carefully nurtured and considered.
