Artist Statement
This painting is part of the series "The Thousand and One Nights" that is inspired by cities Khalid visited and he hopes to visit again and to stay there for longer times.
He named the painting after the historic city Syracuse of Sicily, which he visited for one day in 2017 and hopes to visit again and spends some more time in this inspiring city.
He made the painting in February 2021. The medium is oil on canvas of size 48x60 inches (122x152 cm).
He has signed it on the front. The stretched canvas is staple free sides, wired on the back and with no need for framing. It's ready to hang.
