Artist Statement

IconCaretDown

Within my practice, I float between sculpture, printmaking, painting, and photography. Bouncing between these methods in the studio, one work generates another. I think of them like a flock of birds where one takes the lead. They help one another and arrive to a destination together.
I found my way to printmaking through sculpting. Skins created from casting natural and found objects became the beginning of my collagraph monoprints. They became a way of drawing with something dimensional. Inking and pressing the sculptural skins into the paper records a specific detail that I hope elicits empathy.
