Artist Statement
Meant to be by Lana Alsamir-Diamond - is a result of a continuous interest in themes of closeness, a minimalist abstract.
Ink on Paper has a special quality, the way the black ink makes its mark on paper is very unique. My ink on paper works are extremely minimal yet have a strong presence, I could live surrounded by my ink pieces forever and never tire of their presence. They look better together, hung side by side.
Moons are a constant in my work, if you have ever watched the moon as religiously as I do, you would know that the moon has so many faces, my fascination started when I used it as a constant presence in my more figurative works, and I slowly became fascinated by the shape and the possibilities it offered to my work, it grew from a representation of the moon to a recurring motif.
