This is an original drawing «Untitled №2» by Liza Odinokikh. The artwork is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
With this series of graphic works, I explore the images of my unconscious.
In emotionally figurative therapy, I encounter hidden symbols. Further, I continue to work with the selected images in a conscious condition, developing their manifestation. Through the practice of visualization, I transform the negative signification of images into a favorable one.
The peach tree symbolizes my sense of self and my ideas about the future. From a dried tree cut off from the environment, I «grew» in my unconscious a strong tree with a confident pillar and a lush crown.
Mentally eating a peach a day, I approach the feeling of the fullness of my life. Through interaction with the peach tree, I try to hear my needs and find my true self.
As a media, I chose vintage paper and colored pencils as a manifestation of the fact that it is possible to create new meanings in place of outdated, sometimes destructive meanings.
This artwork is sold unframed. The drawing is coated with archival Schmincke fixativ. The artwork will be sent carefully packed in protective flat packaging.
Based in: St.Petersburg
I am a multidisciplinary artist based in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
I work with various media, such as paintings, graphics and objects.
The main subject that interests me as an artist is the activity of the subconscious mind and its influence on human life. My artistic research is a reflection of my deep psychological work. Through the practice of emotionally figurative therapy, dreams, automatic writing, and other techniques of working with the unconscious, I reveal the symbols of my unconscious and find a new interpretation for them in my artworks.
For years of art practice, I have developed my unique language of art. In my artworks, I use a vivid color palette with the addition of white. Color is one of the main elements of my work, along with a detailed portrayal. Detailing is a kind of meditative-philosophical process for me and is an essential part of my work.
