Artist Statement
Original small scale landscape painting and beautiful nature view painting (beautiful place, nature scenery, highlands), 100% handmade colourful acrylic painting titled "In the Mountains 9" was created with bright acrylic colours on top quality 100% linen canvas.
My landscapes are both idealized and impossible; they are inspired by real places but are entirely imaginary. Colour, patterns and composition are the main preoccupations of my work.

Lucie Jirku is a Czech contemporary artist lives and works in Prague.
Lucie studied and later graduated of the prominent Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. 2001-2002 Fashion Design and Painting 2002-2007 with MA degree. During her studies (2005) she spent one semester in Fine Art studio as an exchange student at the University of Southampton, Winchester School of Art (United Kingdom).
She has been primary focusing on contemporary abstract artworks that are influenced by nature, elementary forms (round, square, triangle etc.) and by architecture. Her significant semi-abstract style is centred on the colorful harmony and formal simplicity, mostly geometric or organic abstract paintings of landscape.
Lucie always tries to achive a fresh, modern look that would lend a modern edge to any interior. Her way of creating is intended for the playful and plainspoken transformation of clean abstract forms, bold colours and various textures into a unique painting.
