This language explores a space to dream of safer systems, where yin and yang can hold each other more lovingly. We are one, all is one, and together we are bound and connected and lovingly operating within a harmonious dance. What we touch will be moved, what we love will expand, all that we are connected to is alchemized by our energy.

Lucy Li is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in southern California. Through her practice she explores a visual philosophical realm to feel the world into understanding, forming new languages to tell stories of interconnectedness. In her words:
"When I was little, the adults taught me that there was no such thing as perfect. My practice has taught me a new truth: that perfection exists effortlessly in the child’s gaze, wandering and wondering, eyes glued with equal fascination to a rock at her feet as to what lies beyond the ocean’s horizon. That is the gaze I hold on to.
The Earth is sacred, and my practice is devoted to her. If nature speaks through form, then I listen to her speak through the birth and bloom of flowers, the changing landscapes of our bodies, the paintings made on sand by the ocean’s tides. There is a constant rhythm in her voice, the beating of time.
I paint to share the stories I hear her tell. Ripples and shapes are bound in rhythms and systems, creating universal languages that bind the singular to the infinite. If language has the ability to construct our worldview, then these languages offer us new dreams for the world — a world where yin and yang can learn to hold each other in harmony, where we can learn to feel the invisible threads that connect us more intimately. We cannot move through this life untouched, so may we allow ourselves to be touched by it all.
My work aspires to illuminate the innate perfection and harmony of being, of an attainable peace, and of the web that binds us all. By offering new ways of seeing, it is my hope that my work may teach us new ways of being."
