Artist Statement
Sand was created during lock down in California. When the beaches and the trails were closing. The last picture I took was of the beach, before the government locked it down for three months. I remember missing the beach , even though I was a couple of kilometers away. I chose to paint this painting as a reminder of the Malibu sand and the way the water from the ocean leaves different shades of beige as it washes off on the shore.
