The style and appearance of Ma's current works reveals that her intention is to uphold the purity of motivation by abolishing theme. From paintings of Ma Wei-Hong, we can see the predicament of our era. By employing the narrative form like a personal diary and the seemingly random scribble, she conveys the anxiety, restless, decadence, fear and ethical entanglement of our society and our personal existence to viewers in a way like a code word. In watching these paintings, we will fall into deep thought and feel uneasy. Behind the ambiguous images, something is unpredictable and disturbing, the things seem to exist in our dreams but in the meantime, they are so similar to the real world we live in and seems to be the cause that we can be uncomfortable and lead to hypothetic conjectures. When we see the titles of Ma's paintings, we are likely definitely to find some enigmatic things.
