About the art
This artwork depicts the consequences of war and what the post war has brought about with its glorification. While the leopard hanging with a noose may symbolize the recent killings of leopards in Sri Lanka, it further represents the ending of the civil war with the defeat of Tamil Tigers. The title, ‘We Came, We Concurred’ requests the viewer to ask themselves if ‘we’ as a species really win the war and if so at what cost?
