Maybe due to my background in mathematics, I like abstraction: pure forms expressing the core qualities of reality. Sand dunes are the most fitting material for my work. Taking a picture is just the beginning of the path. It is a search for photographic Equivalents in which simple lines form a new imagery, which stimulates emotions freed from the original recorded object.
Photography of sand dunes, creative processing.
Based in: Prague
Marek Boguszak is an abstract photographer from Prague. His major subject is the perfect order and harmony of windblown sand dunes created by Newton's laws of physics. His abstraction is rooted in his academic background in mathematics. Together with his wife Magda, Marek transforms the original depictive content into a narrative space of new associations. The artist has received several awards and honorable mentions with TIFA, APA, IPA, Prix de le Photographie, Paris, FAPA and several solo and group exhibitions in London, Prague, Monaco, Zurich and Milan.
