"Man" is a transfer collage from the Retro Fantastic series.
The original analog collage was mirrored, enlarged, printed and transferred to the canvas.
The work was then finished with acrylic paint, markers and pastels.
This series was created for the Retro Fantastic show at the Dutch Design Hotel in Amsterdam.
Images from the sixties are set against the reality of those good old days.
The article featuring this artwork is from Look Magazine 1967.
Patricia Coffin signs a column against women's emancipation in which she urges men to get back to the head of their families.
The faceless model is from a French 60's magazine.
The collage transfer technique gives the work its authentic vintage and worn look.
