Artist Statement
Demonstrations are a recurring motif in Mariano Molina´s work. Although at first they were taken from political conflicts, development of his pictorial poetry led him to abstract the original details of the situations represented to focus on the volume of the mass as plastic materiality. He uses airbrushes techniques and acrylics to develop his paintings. The work with the crowds conducted him to expand their formats, until translate them into full-scale murals and urban interventions.
