ABOUT «HIDDEN PORTRAITS» SERIES
As a child, I had a favorite pastime: I found familiar images of people, animals, or fairy-tale creatures in patterns on a wall plaster, tile, or other surface. These images became my friends and I came up with interesting stories that could happen to them. This artwork series is made on the same principle: mysterious portraits of people hidden in an abstract painting. This is something you won't see at the first glance.
ARTWORK INSPIRATION
I immediately realized that in this picture I need to depict an oriental girl. There was another option to portray the Greek goddess, but her image seemed to me less expressive. I looked at photos and images of Chinese and Japanese girls in traditional dress before I started painting. I liked the Japanese style more, I decided to call the painting «Japanese Princess» and depict a Japanese girl in a flowering garden on it. I understand that the green color is somewhat unusual as a complexion, but it is an abstraction - you can play with colors! And another small detail: I put on the abstract spots first, and only then I think about what can be depicted from it. The result is unexpected! This is the whole point!

Artist Profile
Born: 1979
Hometown: Mersin
Based in: Mersin
I am an Abstract award-winning and internationally selling artist, born in Kazakhstan, raised in Russia, and currently living in Turkey.
Having graduated with honors from Moscow Textile University with a degree in Visual Arts, I had changed the following art-related professions during the last 13 years: fashion designer, graphic designer, and book illustrator. As I had professional success in all these fields, I wanted to try a new art direction. I graduated with honors from Triphon Icon Painting School in Moscow and worked as an Icon Painter for 5 years. But the most satisfaction I get has been working since 2019 as a full-time artist in sunny Turkey. This occupation gives me the degree of freedom I have been striving for all these years. In 2022, I was honored to become a member of the International Association of Art.
Having a rich artistic experience, I like to experiment with mediums in order to achieve the necessary texture and color expressiveness. I use paints on glass, ink, and natural coffee in addition to acrylic. The «monotype method» is the basis of my author's painting technique. I stamp various textures on the canvas and then I paint over traces until I get satisfied with the composition. I start painting only in a good mood so that the pictures turn out to be with positive energy and share these vibes with the viewer.
