About the art
Artist statement
I created a series of artworks inspired by the sea, the beauty of the underwater and overwater world, sandy and pebble beaches, and coastal cliffs. The idea is to show abstract seascapes, not in their classical sense, but as if enlarged under a microscope. I match the seascapes with beautiful ornaments and energy play in my paintings and show the inner structure of sea waves, foam, and water.
This abstract blue and purple painting was inspired by a wooden fence right next to the sea. I was particularly impressed by the noble gray tone of the boards and their rich texture. This marine-themed artwork is with grunge and shabby-style effects and whimsical ornament parts.
