Artist Statement
Frothie and Friskie is a 36" x 36" signed original abstract acrylic painting by Marlene Struss on a wired cradled wood panel with lightly varnished sides to complement the painting. The dominant colors are red, yellow, blue and white. The style is biomorphic abstract expressionism. The splashing water effect, which resembles little dogs playing, over a rainbow background expresses the exuberance and freshness of fun in the outdoors, spontaneity, and happiness.
