Artist Statement
"Digital Wreck"
/ from the "Grane" cycle
In Digital Wreck, slightly inclined vertical bands create a background movement in the quadricular structure below. The pictorial cells always repeat themselves differently within the system, creating mutant visual relationships, like micro-stories, like torn posters.
"Grain" cycle
Working with systems of signs I investigated the theme of order and limit. Through masking I began to delimit the fields of free action of groups of signs that thus find their Dionysian outlet contained by the Apollonian painter's tape. The research through image-non-image painting becomes in this cycle a metaphor of deteriorated digital files or a suggestion of the out-of-control human meta-encyclopedia that is being created online, "Digital Ruins" for posterity.

Artist Profile
Born: 1970
Hometown: Udine
Based in: Udine
I am Italian and I studied Architecture and Art in Venice (IUAV).
I studied one year in Valencia (Spain) UPV.
I studied "Chalcographic Techniques" at Stamperia d’Arte Albicocco, Udine , Italy
My paintings are about the potential of emptyness and at the same time about the wonder of our presence in this world, here and now, solid and bold as passing clouds.
Every picture could be the last one. It would be the end from which something else will inevitably originate.
Painting as a visual haiku, a remedy to the overwhelming flow of images we are sucked in, as if by a black hole. I wonder what will be left of this unfathomable quantity of bits of humankind memory.
