Artist Statement
'Voyager' oil on canvas. The painting is part of the series titled 'The becoming' and it is a reflection on the human condition. Initially the series was born out of the idea of representing one day in a woman's life.
The voyager represents the traveler through time and space, the woman is sitting in the bath where the bath is representing the 'boat' which is the means for travelling. The shape of the bath resembling the boat or ship is symbolic.
The theme of the painting is rooted in everyday life and aims to recreate the meaning in everyday trivialities.
The painting is on stretcher bars so it's ready to hang and it is varnished to be protected for generations to come. The sides of the painting is clean white, there are no paint drops or marks visible on it.

In her creative process colour and texture are equally important, as well as the deconstruction of forms which allows her to find an equilibrium between figuration and abstraction.
