Since the isolation began, I take my work brakes on the balcony, I get some sunlight, some fresh air, besides my window and plant, I see a dense and rich enviroment, old buildings, industrial buildings, a concrete wall, a metal fence, a fence that sepparates spaces between nature and buildings, some workers in the courtyard vis-a-vis, the soon to be Bucharest Cathedral and some trees that grew randomly. It is wierdly not coherent at all, but still very interesting to look at.

Hometown: Tunrnu Magurele
Based in: Bucharest
My name is Mihai Cotiga, born in Turnu Magurele, Romania. Living in Bucharest, Romania, where I have my painting studio. My paintings can be found in private collections in many countries like USA, France, UAE, Canada, Romania. Over the years I had exibited in solo shows and group shows in Romania and Netherlands. Since 2009 I've been paintings in oils and experimenting with various materials. Most of my work untill 2018 it's abstract. I explored and studied abstract expressionism, different types of colours and surfaces, oil paints, enamels, spray paints, oxides, canvas, paper, cloths and so on. I always painted to answer questions and to evoke emotion.
At first I started on Yves Klein journey to explore the imaterial so I broke my palette down to only three colours, blue, white and black, after a year and a half I started to introduce a few more colours but close to these ones. Slowly incorporating my studies in my paintings I started varying quite a lot and my paintings became a lot more intense. Themes that I explored are Space Exploration(interpreting the planets of our galaxy), a lot of writings that moved me like "Solaris" by Stanislav Lem, "Erostrat" by Jean-Paul Sartre, "The Hunger Artist" by Franz Kafka to name a few, also inspired by music such as John Coltrane's Stellar Regions.
At the end of 2018 I started figurative painting again, you can find some of my works in the linked sites at the bottom of the screen. The more recent works are a representation and interpretation of my life in images filtered by me.
I have an MFA in Architecture, create illustrations, catalogues, portfolios, posters and lots of other things, mostly creative related for a lot of years.
