About the art
Artist statement
Being surrounded by vibrant plants inside is a great feeling. I wanted to represent Alina, my girlfriend in a peaceful brightly lit environment. Composing the image by starting from a black and white grainy photo I took of her standing on the floor by a plant while visiting some friends. In some places I did not paint or painted extremely lightly to create the grainy effect of the film on the surface of the canvas. And searched for another interior full of plants to put them together. I love the light and the vibrancy of the plants. It all comes together really well making the image peaceful, gentle yet maintaining an intensity.
