Artist statement
The artist wanted to create a warm painting with cool colors, so the subject was a great opportunity. The woman in the painting is wearing a veil that goes from white to a turquoise tone. The vibrant red lips stand out from the rest of the palette. The woman seems to be caught in a space in between the veil and the pattern that fills the whole image of the painting. It's a painting about beauty, about space and powerful emotion.
