Artist Statement
I wanted to paint Yves Klein, his International Klein Blue always fascinated me, I have seen works of his in Paris at the Georges Pompidou Center before, but I had to give him a twist. I used a painting from minimalist artist Ellsworth Kelly as a pattern on top of Klein. The intent was to give a hint to his minimalistic approach of the monochrome paintings he made. He was a bit crazy, the painting is a bit crazy and allover the place so I think it captures him really well.
