About the art
Artist statement
The Monster That Ate The Dark- Edition of 20 signed archival Ink Jet prints
Drawing on the divergent traditions of both formal abstraction and my early enthusiasm for 70's comic book illustrators, this six-image series of archival digital prints, entitled TMTATD, is a limited edition of 20 archival ink jet prints on fine art paper by Reactor Art in Toronto, These compositions allowed for the exploration of my interest in the depictions of primal symbols, such as fire, smoke, stars, and honey combs, all densely packed, with a single figure emerging towards the viewer. The emphasis is on my sense of slowness in the darkness, of night’s reverberations, it’s inherent and mysterious intensity over day. These prints offer finely rendered, affordable versions of my original drawings dating from 2017 to 2018. My work has been exhibited at Robert Henry Contemporary, Pulse Art Fair Miami, the and is represented by David Richard Gallery in New York.
