This piece is created from stoneware clay. Hand built and hand painted. It is made to resemble coral texture and wave movement. Two opposite stories are told by the exterior and interior parts of the vessel. The contrast between the coarse coral-like texture outside and the smooth glossy glaze inside excites the eye but it also represents coral reefs impacted by the climate change. Coral-like texture outside representing dead coral juxtaposed with a smooth, colorful inside representing thriving sea life.
